What does Tandarook House offer?
If you are an older person wishing to maintain independence while at the same time enjoy the companionship and security of others, then Tandarook House may be just what you are looking for.Tandarook House is comprised of 10 bedroom units with built-in wardrobe and ensuite and a communal lounge, dining area, kitchen and laundry facilities. Tandarook House is well insulated and has floor slab heating with each room containing its own thermostat controls.
Tandarook House is located on Victoria Street overlooking beautiful Tandarook Park and is in close proximity to Cobden's Health Service, the Senior Citizen's Centre, Doctors Clinic and town centre.
A housekeeper is on duty daily to prepare the midday meal and to ensure that there is easy to prepare food available for the evening meal. The Housekeeper also purchases groceries and maintains the common areas of the house.
The communal areas of the house are furnished and residents are able to bring their personal items of furniture for their own rooms. There is also a guestroom for visitors should a family member wish to stay. Telephone and television connections are available in each unit and there is a car park adjacent to the facility.
The gardens and surrounds are maintained by staff; however, if a resident wishes, they are welcome to assist in maintaining the individual garden areas adjacent to their unit.

Costs
The fee is approximately 75% of the Aged Pension and some residents may also be eligible for Rental Assistance. There is no bond payment required.
The rent is payable fortnightly in advance, and covers accommodation, meals and utilities. Fees are reviewed annually. Residents are responsible for their own telephone accounts.
