Emergency Stabilisation Department (ESD)
Our ESD provides the community and visitors with an Emergency Stabilisation service inclusive of a comprehensive assessment and treatment measures 24 hours, 7 days a week. All major medical/trauma presentations are triaged and transferred to a higher level hospital for treatment. The ESD is staffed by our local General Practitioners (GPs) and Nursing staff. The local GPs share weekend on-call with Camperdown GPs which means patients are sometimes directed to Camperdown when one of their GPs is on call. For major emergencies; however, the Camperdown GPs will assist where needed. When patients attend our ESD, they are encouraged to complete a Feedback Card. Responses assist us to continually improve our services.
Feedback Results October - December 2008 18 cards were completed (46% of attendees for quarter) 100% were able to locate the department easily, 100% were informed of their diagnosis, and 100% understood the treatment provided.
We hope patients and visitors will continue to complete Feedback Cards so we can ensure we are providing the best possible service to our clients.
