Emergency Stabilisation Department (ESD)

Our ESD provides the community and visitors with an Emergency Stabilisation service inclusive of a comprehensive assessment and treatment measures 24 hours, 7 days a week. All major medical/trauma presentations are triaged and transferred to a higher level hospital for treatment. The ESD is staffed by our local General Practitioners (GPs) and Nursing staff. The local GPs share weekend on-call with Camperdown GPs which means patients are sometimes directed to Camperdown when one of their GPs is on call. For major emergencies; however, the Camperdown GPs will assist where needed.

When patients attend our ESD, they are encouraged to complete a Feedback Card. Responses assist us to continually improve our services.

We hope patients and visitors will continue to complete Feedback Cards so we can ensure we are providing the best possible service to our clients.
