COMING SOON – A WARM WATER POOL IN COBDEN
15th July 2009
“At long last, we can say with certainty that the community’s Warm Water Exercise Pool will be built!” Cobden District Health Services’ Board Chairman Mr Frank Martin made the official announcement this week while signing a contract with Ian Titmus of Bachelors Building & Joinery who is based in Camperdown. Also present was Architect Chris Baudinette of Baudinette and Associates who has been assisting Cobden District Health Services with this project since inception. Frank Martin stated that “it has been a very long process but the result has been well worth the work. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the communities of Cobden and district who have been supporting this project for the past 8 years. We especially thank CDHS’ Board of Management for their dedication and commitment to this project and to Doug Issell for his vision. We also want to thank the Corangamite Shire for their support both by way of their $500,000 capital contribution and their time over the years in submitting funding applications etc.“CDHS Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Jeannine Creely, said “although we have encountered hurdles along the way, the community have continued to support this project by way of holding special fundraising events and directing funds to the Warm Water Pool. The list is quite long of organisations, clubs and individuals that have donated to the pool over the years and it will all be put to good use making this pool facility user friendly for everyone in the communities of Cobden and district. This pool will be such an asset to the Corangamite Shire and I can not wait for the first water exercise class to occur or a learn to swim class or people using the swim spas. It is going to be great!” Back to Home
