ANOTHER 3 YEARS ACCREDITATION

Cobden District Health Services’ staff and the residents of Lovely Banks and Heytesbury Lodge have much to celebrate after receiving a further 3 years Accreditation from the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd. “There is a lot of work involved in providing residential aged care to our residents beyond just looking after their daily needs. There are 44 Accreditation Standards that must be continuously met in all areas of our operations such as Food Services, Laundry, education for staff, activities for residents just to name a few. The Aged Care Agency ensures we are doing what we are supposed to be doing by performing surprise spot checks, annual support visits and Accreditation Site Audits” stated chief executive Mrs. Jeannine Creely.” “At CDHS, we pride ourselves on continuous improvement in all our operations, not just aged care. When staff, residents or clients notice a process that could be done better, we have systems in place to identify it, recommend actions to fix it and then we follow-up on any changes made to ensure it fixed the original problem. Because quality improvement is embedded in the culture here at CDHS, the Agency’s visits are looked at as a positive opportunity to ensure we are providing the very best care to our residents.
